Intense fighting in Bakhmut as Ukrainian Forces move closer to Kherson

Ukrainian military are advancing on the important Kherson region that Russia acquired a few weeks ago, according to Bakhmut, a Ukrainian city. While Ukrainian troops are resisting Russian attacks in two eastern towns, Russian forces are attempting to advance westward. Ukrainian soldiers on the southern front are getting ready to go on the attack in order to capture the vital Kherson region at the same time.

Russia looks to be bolstering in anticipation of the Ukrainian onslaught on the Kherson region.

In his daily speech to the nation on Wednesday, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said fighting continued fierce in the eastern Donbas region close to Bakhmut, a town that Russia’s Wagner forces have made a concerted effort to conquer.

Zelenskyy stated that there hasn’t been much of shift in the situation on the front lines.
“Toward Bakhmut and Avdiivka in the Donetsk region, the fighting is strong. This is  where  the  Russian  command’s insanity is most obvious, he continued.
They have been concentrating the most intense artillery strikes there for months, killing civilians day in and day out. Ilona  Ierhilieieva  is  one  of  the  citizens  of Bakhmut  who  is  having  difficulty  as  result  of  ongoing  military actions.  She told Al Jazeera, “People who left, moved to their children or brothers and sisters, they had someplace to go.” However, we have nowhere to go, which is why we are here.More people want to leave Bakhmut, according to Roman Zhylenkov, volunteer with the non-governmental organization Vostok-SOS.”
