20 terrorists killed as security forces concludes clearance op in Panjgur
According to a statement of the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) total number of killed terrorists in recent attacks on security forces installations in Noshki and Panjgur is 20 and security forces have complted the clearance operation in Panjgur that lasted for 72 hours.
ISPR in the latest press release has given some details about these operations. According to ISPR ‘terrorists attacked security forces’ camps in Naushki and Panjgur late evening on February 2. Both attacks were repulsed successfully by the prompt response from troops at both locations”.
ISPR said, 9 terrorists were killed while four personnel, including an officer, of security forces embraced martyrdom during the intense exchange of fire with terrorists while repulsing the terrorist attack.
In Panjgur, according to the statement, security forces repulsed the terrorist attack after an intense exchange of fire and terrorists fled from the area. “Security forces carried out clearance operations to hunt down hiding terrorists in the vicinity,” it added. Picture of dead terrorists have been released as well in which security forces personnel can be seen along with recovered weapons.
Military officials said that in Panjgur, 4 terrorists were eliminated during the initial phase of attack while 4 others fled and take refugee in populated areas. These four terrorists were encircled the next day by security forces. “All encircled terrorists were killed in today’s operation as they failed to surrender.”
The ISPR said that five soldiers, including a JCO, embraced martyrdom and six soldiers have been injured during follow up operations at Panjgur lasting 72 hours. Apart from these, 3 terrorists including 2 high profile commanders of BARS were eliminated during a security forces’ operation on a makeshift terrorist hideout on Friday.
“Our security forces stand firm and resolutely committed to eliminating the menace of terrorism from our soil no matter what the cost,” ISRP statement added further.
Prime Minister of Pakistan, Imran Khan has congratulated the troops on repulsing the attacks and has reiterated nation’s trust in their security forces.
